MetLife

Despite only being in Australia since July 2005, MetLife Australia has gained a lot of respect in its field for life insurances. The individual life insurance products consist of Term Life, Personal Accident, Funeral Cover, Trauma, Income Protection, Mortgage Protection Insurance, and Credit Insurance.

Term Life refers to a lump sum benefit that is paid to your beneficiary when you die or if you are diagnosed with terminal illnesses. Personal Accident is similar to Term Life, but it goes further to include death by accident, accidental injury, and loss of independence from an accident as well.

Funeral Cover, as its title suggests, particularly refers to benefits that are geared for payments of funerals. Trauma Insurance is a different type of option because it is oriented for a critical illness or loss of independence, as opposed to death in three of the previous choices. Income Protection is recommended for those who are not able to work because of illness or injury and want life insurances to help their situations.

Mortgage Protection Insurance is more specific in its nature in the sense that it offers regular payments for those unemployed or with disabilities, and provides lump sum payments in the case of death. Credit Insurance is similar, but it provides lump sum or regular payments for paying debts and loans.
