Asteron

Asteron Life Insurance

Asteron is a well established life insurance company with a history of 175 years and claims that it wrote the first life insurance policy in Australia!

Asteron Lifeguard Life Cover is the life insurance policy that Asteron offers. Under this life insurance cover, the insured person receives life insurance worldwide, and $10,000 of Child Cover Premium-free is available for each of the insured’s children by paying an extra $1 per month.

Like other life insurances, Life Cover will pay a lump sum to the insured if he or she dies or is diagnosed with a terminal illness. This coverage has two types of premium structures, which are Stepped and Level. The main difference between the two is that Stepped Premiums have an entry age of 17 to 74 whereas Level premiums have an entry age of 24 to 59. Life Cover also comes with a TPD (Totally and Permanently Disabled) option, which are available in three types: Single TPD with No Buy Back Payout, Single TPD Payout, and Double TPD Payout.

A good thing about choosing life insurance from Asteron is that over a period of time, the benefits increase. For instance, Life Cover with the Recovery Package has a value of $10,000 in the first 2 years. Then, the value increases to $12,500 in the third and fourth year, and from fifth year or more, the insurance is worth $20,000. Not surprisingly, in 2009, Asteron received the award called Plan for Life/AFA Life Company of the Year, so it is definitely a Life Insurance company which is worth your consideration.
